Caroline Says Announces New Album and Releases “Roses”
Next month, Caroline Sallee, recognized as Caroline Says, will unveil her new album The Lucky One, marking her return after six years. The album’s lead single, “Faded And Golden,” garnered a lot of positive attention recently, and Sallee has now introduced another beautiful track titled “Roses.”
In a recent press announcement, it was shared that the inspiration for “Roses” came from Caroline exploring her grandmother’s collection of Kentucky Derby glasses. During this, she discovered the story of Sunday Silence, a racehorse that narrowly missed winning the Triple Crown in 1989—the same year Caroline was born.
The song captures a delicate and reflective mood, drawing parallels between the life of Sunday Silence and Caroline’s own emotions. She describes it as “a song of longing and lament—about the pressure to succeed and the disappointment that comes with unmet expectations.” You can listen to the track below.
Mark your calendars—The Lucky One will be released on October 11 via Western Vinyl.
