Bright Eyes Introduces Latest Album “Five Dice, All Threes” Featuring Cat Power, Matt Berninger, & Alex Orange Drink

Bright Eyes Announce New Album Five Dice, All Threes Feat. Cat Power, Matt Berninger, & Alex Orange Drink

Through the release of “Down In The Weeds Where The World Once Was” in 2020, Bright Eyes resonated with the peculiarities of that year. Today, they announce their upcoming album, “Five Dice, All Threes,” set to be released on September 20. The first single, “Bells And Whistles,” is already available along with a music video shot in Omaha and directed by Josh Boone.

Conor Oberst elaborated on the meaning of the song, stating, “This is a song about the many little details in life that can seem insignificant or frivolous or temporary at the time but eventually end up forming your destiny.” The track also features nods to New York, LA, Princess Diana, and more.

The album “Five Dice, All Threes” is self-produced and includes collaborations with Cat Power, Matt Berninger from The National, and Alex Orange Drink from The So So Glos. Oberst reflected on the dark themes present in the album, noting his evolution in embracing such content consciously.

Nate Walcott described the LP as revisiting the essence of their earlier records, emphasizing the chaotic and urgent quality in the performances. Bright Eyes also initiated the “Companions” project post their last album.
