Brennan Wedl Unveils New Single “Heartland” on TunesDeck

Brennan Wedl – “Heartland”

Previously recognized as an Artist To Watch in May for her clever and melodious tracks like “Fake Cowboy,” Nashville-based singer-songwriter Brennan Wedl has released a new song titled “Heartland.”

Wedl describes “Heartland” as “a lengthy divorce told through the eyes of an adult child in Middle America.” She draws inspiration from the straightforward storytelling style of Bruce Springsteen’s “My Father’s House.” The emotional and straightforward narrative resonates with anyone who has experienced family struggles.

She further explains that the video for “Heartland” symbolizes the connection to our inner child, emphasizing that embracing playfulness is crucial for personal development at any age.

With a blend of finger-picked acoustic guitar and melancholic pedal steel, “Heartland” captures a poignant mood, with lyrics depicting heartfelt moments: “Brothers cried on the telephone/ The dog died and they sold our home/ Life changes fast/ Marriage never lasts in the Heartland,” she expresses.
