Watch out, Mariah: Brenda Lee is making a serious bid for the top charts again.
In December, Brenda Lee’s iconic track “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” climbed to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 for three weeks, 65 years after it first came out. At 78 years old, she became the oldest artist to reach this milestone. A new music video and promotional efforts helped the classic regain its popularity, although ultimately Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You” took back the #1 spot for the fifth year in a row. Brenda’s accomplishment opened the door for other Christmas songs to challenge for the crown during the holiday season.
Now, Brenda Lee is innovating with a unique twist to boost her streaming numbers. Collaborating with producer Auero Baqueiro, she has released an AI-generated Spanish version of her famous song titled “Noche Buena y Navidad.” This rendition utilizes the original 1958 instrumental while featuring an AI-generated Spanish vocal, crafted with the SoundLabs AI plug-in MicDrop.
Brenda expressed her excitement:
I am incredibly impressed by this new Spanish version of “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree,” created with the help of AI. Throughout my career, I’ve performed various songs in multiple languages, but I never had the chance to record “Rockin’” in Spanish, which I always wanted to do. Having it available now is amazing, and I’m thrilled to present the song to fans in a fresh way.
