Billie Eilish Channels Studio Ghibli In Self-Directed “Chihiro” Video

Billie Eilish dropped her third album, Hit Me Hard And Soft, recently without releasing any singles prior. The song “Chihiro” from the album now has a self-directed music video by Eilish. The video features Eilish in a mysterious, dimly-lit setting resembling an empty school, possibly a homage to the Studio Ghibli film, Spirited Away.

In the video, she encounters a potential love interest played by Nat Wolff as they explore the building and eventually end up in a field at sunset. Eilish shared in an interview with Rolling Stone that the song draws inspiration from Spirited Away, one of her favorite movies, and the captivating visuals created by Studio Ghibli.

Eilish expressed her excitement about the video on Instagram, calling it “one of my favorite videos I’ve made & truly one of the greatest days of my life.” Watch the video below.
