Beach Bunny is transitioning after their album Emotional Creature. The Chicago-based rock band, known for their catchy and heartfelt music, released their first new track in two years titled “Vertigo” in June. They have now dropped another song named “Clueless.” Despite its title referencing a teen film, the song explores themes of growing apart from friends as one approaches their late 20s. A video directed by Bertie Gilbert complements the song’s message beautifully.
Lili Trifilio, the band’s lead vocalist, shared her thoughts on the song:
This song came together quickly; I wrote it in February while reflecting on the previous year. It only took me about five minutes to finish — it felt like it wrote itself. The aim wasn’t to evoke sadness, but rather to resonate with listeners. Time and change are tricky concepts, and I didn’t set out to reach any conclusions with this track. I just needed to express my thoughts, and while I’m still figuring it all out, that’s part of the adventure of life.
