Bacchae, the DC post-punk band, is set to release their upcoming album Next Time later this week. The album already boasts singles like “Cooler Talk,” “Just A Rat,” and the title track. The band has now unveiled “Dead Man,” a lively power-pop song addressing the toll of a monotonous job on one’s well-being. The band shares their perspective on the track:
“Dead Man” resonates with those stuck in mundane office jobs, hoping for promised advancements that never materialize. The song captures the despair of long days under flickering fluorescent lights, staring at screens, and yearning for a way out. Despite mounting pressures and dwindling enthusiasm, quitting remains a distant option until the sudden news of job termination.”
