Arthur Ashin, the artist behind the name Autre Ne Veut, is known for creating unique, glitchy music that blends R&B influences. After a period of relative quiet, he is set to return with a new album titled Love, Guess Who???, which will be released next month. This album marks his first new work since 2015’s Age Of Transparency. Fans have already been treated to the singles “Okay” and “About To Lose,” and now, Ashin has unveiled a fresh track called “Itchy Blood.” True to form, it comes with a strikingly unusual music video.
The song “Itchy Blood” features a heartfelt and intense duet with Jessica Zambri from the sister duo Zambri. In a surreal video directed by Max Lakner, Ashin takes on the role of a singing fetus, portraying it with unsettling realism. Zambri plays a mother who appears to give birth almost immediately after an intimate encounter with her gynecologist. The video also includes a peculiar scene where Ashin, as a fully dressed adult fetus, mingles at a party, visibly displaying his umbilical cord and placenta. Innovative and bizarre visuals are making a comeback! Be sure to watch the video below.
The upcoming album Love, Guess Who??? will be available on November 1 through Rebel Bodies. Following its release, Autre Ne Veut is scheduled to perform at a launch event on November 6 at Public Records in Brooklyn, with Noia and Kris Yute set to open the show.
