I know this isn’t a lot of people favorite album but I really enjoyed it a lot and I was super excited to learn this year an expanded cd was due out with bonus tracks, but not just the stuff from the magnetic single, they have 5 other previously unreleased tracks coming…. as this is my go to jogging album I’m stoked

I grew up lisyening to EWF and I have been waiting for this album a verrryyyy long time to see this album on Itunes one of my favorites and Touch is the jam in which all of them are.

Took u guys forever to get this album out......love that jam "touch"....not on any of there greatest hits...& it's a lot of them out there. Good job finally getting this album out there....
Better Than Its Reputation

Most critics savaged Earth, Wind and Fire's 1983 album "Electric Universe" accusing the band of losing its direction. Frankly, I believe the negative assessment is unwarranted and the album's poor reputation is undeserved. "Electric Universe", while not "classic" EWF, is as good as their previous album "Powerlight". "Electric Universe" does not have a song as solid as "Powerlight's" "Fall in Loove With Me" or "Side By Side" but when compared in their totality, the overall quality of the albums is comparable. "Magnetic" was a top 10 R&B hit and a pretty funky song. "Touch", "Moonwalk" are also good mid to uptempo songs. "Could It Be Right" is a pretty slow jam and the remaining songs are not bad. Where "Electric Universe" differs from other EWF recordings is the absence of the horns. This album is all about the synthesizers, which is fine if one is listening to Yarbourough and Peoples or some of the other popular R&B acts of the time but the horns have been a key part of so many EWF albums. The lack of horns is rather jarring and, despite the always great vocals, leaves 'Electric Universe" sounding rather homogenized. Four stars - Good but far from essential.
