This album is really tight and the grooves are on point. They sound cleaner the the gratitude album. I am sorry but it does.

EWF is a tremendous live act. I have had the pleasure of seeing them a number of times and own several of their concert CDs and DVDs. "Alive in '75" is my favorite of all of them, including "Gratitude", which was recorded during the same tour. This CD features EWF in its prime and contains superior versions of "Shining Star" and "Mighty Mighty". "Reasons", "Sun Goddess" and "Yearnin' Learnin'" are as good as the versions on "Gratitude" and this CD includes excellent versions of "Kalimba Story" and "That's the Way of the World" which are not available on "Gratitude". I think "Gratitude" (5 stars) and "Live in Rio" (4 stars) are also great but if I would start with this CD to capture the EWF concert experience.
  • This album is awesome.

A perfect record for fans of EWF at thier rocking best. This has some great funk guitar and the band is super tight. "Reasons", "Evil", you name it, its all good.

If you are a die hard fan then you'll will enjoy it, but "Live in Rio" and "Gratitude" are better live CD's. still good to hear Mighty Mighty and Happy Feeling live though.
