Either stop collaborating and go back to your old sounds with the scary monsters era or just hang it up and be done already. Sounds horrendous
  • Nearly a perfect album

As someone who longs for the days of 2011 skrillex, generally dislikes trap and modern hip-hop/pop, I was surprised that I REALLY enjoyed this album. I’ve listened to it multiple times a day since it’s release and it grows on me more with each listen. I find all the tunes to be extremely catchy. I’d probably rate the album a 9.5/10 with my only real complaint being some of the lyrics. I totally love the “spring break” / “summer drive” vibes it brings. To me the album definitely feels more cohesive than QFF, which I love. I’m a sucker for consistency and this album is consistent all the way through, plus you get the iconic vocal chops that skrillex has always been known for.

I love skrillex and especially his recent drop QFF. However besides “Selecta” which is a phenomenal track, everything else on this LP sounds like fairly generic pop records that I would never associate with skrillex. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a chill album and enjoyable to listen to, but most of the tracks are quite forgettable. It’s not bad but it’s not great either. I’ll say it again though, Selecta is a BANGER
  • The only bummer is…

I’ve been your fan since 2016, and the sound is getting more advanced. I prefer your current style to the album released in 2015. I’m a big fan of Timbaland, and I think you are the only trackmaker that reached his level. Even older fans prefer the old dubstep beats. I think you are making progress as the trackmaker. The only bummer is expecting the tracks to include kliptown empyrean, Billie Eilish remix with soft and hard, Utada Hikaru remix, and the song you collabed with virtual riot. I still have to use sound cloud or YouTube to listen to those songs I repeat. I can’t wait for more to come, don’t discouraged by the people preferred your old style, I want you to be yourself.
  • Love it

Love the head bobbing vibes most of the tracks on both these new Albums have, I am glad skrillex went totally different direction with these. While i love his OG albums, the era and energy they came from is no more. There are some older Dubstep/EDM artists that i barley listen to anymore because all there newer stuff just sounds copy pasted from there older stuff. Unfortunately it seems these albums aren’t getting the best feedback. Which is surprising to me because they are fantastic! I think you need to be a true connoisseur of music and lover of all genres to truly appreciate these albums. Both Quest For Fire and Don’t Get To Close.

I much prefer it’s sister album (Quest For Fire) but I respect that people may like this one.

Been w/ Skrillex since the Scary Monsters days. I don’t expect to hear that over a decade later but this is so far removed from that record. This is the safe looking for a Top 40 hit album Vs Quest. And the revolving door of rappers/etc singing in every tune is so played by DJ’s. Luckily “Quest For Fire” is legit. Still love you Skrill.
  • where's the sound design?

been a skrillex fan since 2010. There's nothing wrong with making multiple genres as an artist, and trying new things. but this is very basic in my opinion. I miss the wild sound design in his early music. He was a pioneer, paving the way in dubstep & bass music, inspiring artists. Where is the talented sound design? There isn't any. This is just another pop music/hip hop album that’s somewhat electronic. Both albums have no soul, nothing that stands out other than that sick Noisia collab. Just trap drums and vocals, relying on vocal collabs with other artists, without the big names and vocals, these basic pop music beats seam talentless. Skrillex is a legendary producer, that now makes plain ordinary music. I know you can do better skrill, please bring more tracks with some actual sick dubstep sound design, i know u can do it.

I love skrillex and was super excited for both albums and so I bought them without a second thought. Id rather toss these into the trash than receive them for free. Copied and pasted to both albums as reviews cause thats about the level of effort both albums are worth.
