I’m quite disappointed in the fact that the record label that this musician is signed to will not clear the sample Kendrick Lamar used in his track, “The Spiteful Chant,” therefore I will leave a poor review. I do realize that it is not the fault of Woodkid, however I am leaving this review. Have a good day!

So shame on me for sleeping on this album, let alone this artist for so long. Such beauty and artistry are rarely displayed in music these days, let alone an entire album. The mix of modern and classical music styles in such a manner is, for a lack of a better word, extraordinary. Every piece is thought out and true. It feels organic to the soul to listen to and doesn’t lose its magic from the first listen to the 100th. The tone of his voice matches seamlessly with the music and carries emotion throughout. The song “Where I Live” is a direct reflection of this. There is a minimalist feeling to this album that does leave me craving more, but in the best of ways. One of the few albums in my life where I can relate to the lyrics and find peace in it.

I looooove this album. My personal favorites are ‘Run Boy Run’ and ‘Conquest of Spaces.’ All the songs in this album just help relax me and I would 100% recommend this.

Wood Kid takes listeners on quite the journey with this album. Purely original, strong from start to finish. Hard to classify into a Genre. Just Wood Kid doing his thing.
