I am new to Sharon Van Etten, I found her through the Jagjaguwar label after enjoing Angel Olsen's latest album. This is an excellent singer-songwriter album. Some of the songs are chill and atmospheric ("Stay," "Memorial Day"), others sound like Springsteen anthems ("Seventeen," "Comeback Kid). Indie artists like Sharon and Angel have given me a lot of hope about the current state of music.
Fantastic!

This is the first new music I have bought in 15 months (last was Christine and the Queens). That's how bad it is out there for interesting "adult" music. I'm new to Sharon, and love every bit of this album. It's lyrically interesting and intimate, the wide variety of ways she uses her voice is amazing, and the production is fantastic without being over the top.
Best yet!

Saw this artist on the Ellen show. She was awful. Couldn’t here her sing then she was screeching the last few lines. It was painful to listen to. Love finding new artists and music. But for me this artist is a non-starter.

I listen to a lot of heavy, dark stuff and Sharon always disarms me and helps me to feel vulnerable again. This album is no different. I like the new, bigger sound.
New is good

I was afraid with this new sound , instrumentation, and production we would loose some of what made SVE past music so great. No such fears. This is different but just as strong and captivating. She really just can't put out bad music.
