Tamy Moyo has had a successful year of creating hit songs. Her third album, Bold, showcases her years of experience in the music industry with well-crafted songs and powerful vocals.
She started singing at age 7 and received mentorship from iconic Zimbabwean musicians Oliver Mtukudzi and Chiwoniso Maraire at a young age. By 10, she was performing professionally and released her first singles at 14. Her first album, 18th Rollercoaster, including tracks like “Ndibereke,” was released when she was 18. Her second album, Bvudzi Jena, followed in 2021 when she was 23.
Approaching her third project, Moyo aimed to establish a unique sound different from her previous works. She took a more hands-off approach, allowing other songwriters to contribute. For example, “CHINONO” was penned by Jah Prayzah.
She described Bold as celebratory of her roots and personal growth, embodying fearlessness and assertiveness. The album encourages authenticity and expression of one’s truth.
