Burna Boy Collaborates with Coldplay on New Song “We Pray”

The artist known as Burna Boy has teamed up with Coldplay on their latest release, “We Pray,” which came out today. This track, set to be part of Coldplay’s upcoming album titled “Moon Music” scheduled for release on October 4, features not only Burna Boy but also Elyanna from Palestine, Tini from Argentina, and British Nigerian rapper Little Simz.

Burna Boy’s remarkable year continues with this collaboration, adding to his series of notable performances and partnerships. His unique Afro-fusion style has garnered him international recognition through collaborations such as “For My Hand” with Ed Sheeran, “Own It” with Stormzy, “Hey Boy” with Sia, and “My Oasis” with Sam Smith. He has also collaborated with Jorja Smith and contributed to Beyoncé’s “The Lion King: The Gift” album.

Following his acclaimed 2018 album “Outside,” which featured the hit single “Ye,” Burna Boy’s recent tracks like “Last Last,” “It’s Plenty,” and “City Boys” have further solidified his position as a key figure in the Afrobeats genre.

Coldplay’s “We Pray” is a successor to their previous single, “feelslikeimfallinginlove,” and will be included in a physical release along with a recording from Glastonbury. This song not only showcases Burna Boy’s expanding global impact but also demonstrates Coldplay’s continued collaboration with Nigerian artists. This is exemplified by Chris Martin’s recent performances of “Last Heartbreak Song” and “Good Feelings” with Ayra Starr, underscoring the band’s interest in diverse music scenes and the lively Nigerian music industry.
