Mavin Records is set to highlight the talented producers with a new compilation album, marking a first for the Afrobeats genre.
This album will feature tracks exclusively by Mavin’s in-house production team, and today marks the release of its lead single. The track, titled “LIKE,” features producer Andre Vibez, known for his work on Rema’s “Calm Down”, collaborating with the artist DanDizzy, who brings a pop-rap vibe to the mix. The song explores contemporary relationships, a recurring theme in DanDizzy’s repertoire.
The song combines electronic elements with a vibrant Afropop rhythm, creating a dynamic sound that stands out. The chemistry between Andre Vibez and DanDizzy is evident, thanks in part to the rapper’s freestyle abilities. “We didn’t overthink anything,” Vibez explains to TunesDeck. “Our focus was on capturing the moment’s essence.”
Vibez describes the right beat as an emotional experience, stating that “LIKE” passed his initial testing. “If the beat hooks me immediately, I know it’s right,” he shares. “Also, the artist’s instant reaction when they first hear it is often a promising sign that we have a hit.”
