Raavi’s Latest Release: “Henry”
The upcoming EP, The Upside, from Raavi, an indie-pop band hailing from New York and fronted by Raavi Sita, is set to be released in September. Preceding the EP is the new single, “Henry,” which carries a bright melody and runs for a short duration but is laden with emotion. Sita describes it as a reflection on her experiences with boys during her youth.
In her own words:
The song explores the realization that I was not being perceived by the males in my life as just myself, but primarily as a girl. I grew up with an androgynous identity, adapting effortlessly to my male and female friend circles, allowing me to navigate both worlds to some extent. However, at a certain point, this facade collapsed. I underwent a transition that many gender nonconforming individuals go through, where I shifted from being seen as Raavi to being labeled as Raavi the girl, along with all the stereotypes associated with it.

The Upside will be available on 9/13 through Mtn Laurel Recording Co.
