Honeyglaze, a London-based trio known for their intricate and pleasing indie rock sound, will be releasing a new album titled Real Deal in September. With the success of their lead single “Don’t,” the band has now unveiled another track, “Cold Caller.”
“Cold Caller” is a mellow song characterized by intricate guitar melodies and math rock-inspired drumming, reminiscent of Life Without Buildings with a different vocal approach. The lyrics delve into the desperation that stems from profound loneliness, expressing sentiments like, “Ever since the lights went out, I answer every cold caller, I know exactly what they want, I just enjoy the conversation.”
The band reflects on the song’s concept in a press release, stating, “It’s ironic, as one would typically avoid attention from a cold caller. It highlights the profound loneliness someone must endure when lacking human interaction. Wishful thinking and self-deception play a significant role in shaping our reality.”
