Air’s Latest Collaboration with Singer/Actress Remy Bond

Air’s First New Music In A Decade Is A Collab With Singer/Actress Remy Bond

The renowned French duo Air, known for their last release in 2014 with Music For Museum, are back in the spotlight. Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoît Dunckel have been on a break focusing on individual projects until they came together to assist 19-year-old influencer Remy Bond on a new single.

Remy Bond, originally from New York, gained fame for her role as Tina Fey’s daughter on a few episodes of 30 Rock in 2013. With a strong presence on Instagram, she is now venturing into a music career. Jean-Benoît Dunckel co-wrote her latest single “Summer Song,” where both members of Air contribute musically. The track was produced by Jules Apollinaire, known for collaborating with Suki Waterhouse, resulting in a dreamy, opium-den sound reminiscent of Lana Del Rey. Lyrics include themes like “real love” and references to iconic figures like Sid and Nancy.

Bond describes the song as a nostalgic ode to the late ’60s and early ’70s with American influences, steering clear of clichés with the help of Air and British producers, adding new dimensions and perspectives to the project.

Inspired by their work on The Virgin Suicides, for which they provided the score, Air’s musical style resonates in the song and its accompanying video. The video, directed by Jagger Blue, Soleil Moon Frye’s daughter, captures a vintage aesthetic. Remy Bond, the oldest member of the cast, enlisted high schoolers for the production. While Air is not officially featured, their musical contribution marks their return. Watch the video below.
