In 2021, the New York post-hardcore group Common Sage launched their second album titled It Lives And It Breathes. Now, they are all set to unveil a new three-song EP named Nostos | Algos. Drawing inspiration from the Y2K era screamo, Common Sage’s music is known for its intense and dramatic style. For their latest single “Edin,” they have collaborated with two members of Thursday, a band that has heavily influenced them.
Thursday recently made a comeback with their first single in 13 years titled “Application For Release From The Dream.” On “Edin,” vocalist Geoff Rickly and guitarist Steve Pedulla from Thursday contribute to the dynamic sound. This track’s high energy and intensity will instantly remind fans of the prime days of Thursday. The music video for “Edin,” created by director Jesse Korman, features a striking black-and-white visual aesthetic. Korman uses digital effects to distort the faces of Rickly and Common Sage’s frontman Julian Rosen, giving them a cartoonish and otherworldly appearance, reminiscent of the iconic “Black Hole Sun” visuals. Check out the video below.
The EP Nostos | Algos is scheduled for release on 7/24 through Equal Vision.
