Jessica Boudreaux recently unveiled her first solo album, The Faster I Run. Having already shared tracks like “Be Somebody Else” and “Back Then,” today she presents the cinematic piece “Main Character.”
Describing the song, Jessica shared, “I see ‘Main Character’ as one of the more light-hearted and tongue-in-cheek tracks on the album.” She further explained:
Initially, I thought I was writing about someone else, but as the song evolved, I realized I was actually depicting a version of myself I hadn’t been able to perceive until recently. The lyrics delve into the notion of going through life as ‘the star’ of my own tale, viewing all relationships and experiences merely as tools to advance my own narrative. While I no longer approach life in this manner, it was quite therapeutic to playfully mock this idea of ‘main character energy’ that I observed a lot on social media at the time and how it resonated with me, particularly as an artist.

The Faster I Run will be available on 7/19 via Pet Club.
