Fontaines D.C. Drops “Favourite” as Part of Their New Album Release
Fontaines D.C. recently revealed their upcoming album Romance, the successor to 2022’s Skinty Fia, along with the intense lead single “Starburster.” Today, the Irish post-punk band is presenting “Favourite,” the closing track from the album, which they premiered live in Brooklyn last month.
While “Starburster” embodied a sense of anxiety, “Favourite” captures the essence of love. Lead singer Grian Chatten describes it as having “this never-ending sound, a continuous cycle from euphoria to sadness, two worlds spinning forever.” The song is more poignant when coupled with a music video that includes childhood footage of the band members interwoven with scenes from their recent visit to Madrid.
