New Single Release After Eight Years
LL Cool J, the veteren rap hyena of Queens, is back with a new single “Saturday Night Special” after an eight-year hiatus. The last single released was “You Already,” a collaboration with Troy Ave. LL has been occupied with his role in NCIS but is now focusing on his rap career. With his new single, LL teams up with rap legends Q-Tip, Rick Ross, and Fat Joe for a powerful track.
LL Cool J is set to release his first full album since 2013 titled The FORCE (Frequencies of Real Creative Energy) later this year. The album will be executive produced by Q-Tip, who also produced the beat for “Saturday Night Special.” Alongside Rick Ross and Fat Joe, LL delivers a solid performance on the track.
The music video for “Saturday Night Special,” directed by JakeTheShooter, features the trio in black-and-white against a bright-white background, reminiscent of classic hip-hop visuals.
LL Cool J and Fat Joe have collaborated in the past on tracks like “I Shot Ya” remix in 1995. The new single pays homage to the history these artists share and their continued relevance in the rap scene.
“Saturday Night Special” is now available on Def Jam for fans to enjoy.
