Renowned Afrobeat artist, Ruger, opens up about the reconciliation with fellow artist BNXN and the detrimental effects of comparisons. In an exclusive interview with Beats FM 99.9, Ruger sheds light on the inspiration behind his hit singles ‘Luv Again’ and ‘Make Way’ and the reconciliation process with BNXN.
Their widely publicized rift, spanning almost three years, stemmed from fan comparisons, a factor Ruger identifies as a catalyst for their discord despite its dual nature.
Ruger expressed:
“Comparison can dampen joy but is an integral part of the industry. It captivates the audience, sparking debates and discussions.”
“We chose to rise above the comparisons to focus on creating great music together. The current music scene is filled with distractions, with some artists promoting subpar content through financial means. Our ‘RnB’ project exemplifies quality music,” Ruger iterated regarding his reconciliation with BNXN and their collaborative EP ‘RnB’.”
