Vera Farmiga, known for her roles in Up In The Air, The Conjuring, and The Departed, has ventured into music with her new band, The Yagas. The band features her husband, Renn Hawkey from the industrial metal group Deadsy, alongside drummer Jason Bowman, guitarist Mark Visconti, and bassist Mike Davis. They have just launched their first single, titled “The Crying Room,” which is accompanied by a music video showcasing Eugene Hütz from Gogol Bordello.
Farmiga describes “The Crying Room” as a song about emotional release, saying, “It’s about crying your heart clean.” She explains that the music video was filmed during and after an eclipse, symbolizing a deeper exploration of the soul. The experience of an eclipse can profoundly influence our emotions, creating a space for reflection and transformation. It encourages people to confront their internal struggles and bring light to their darkest moments.
This release also aims to support the Ukrainian people, as both Farmiga and Hütz have Ukrainian heritage. “The Crying Room” is being released in collaboration with RAZOM For Ukraine. Check out the music video below.
