Sophie Ellis-Bextor Unleashes Fresh Track After “Murder On The Dancefloor” Comeback, Eyes Best New Artist Grammy

Sophie Ellis-Bextor Shares First New Song Since “Murder On The Dancefloor” Revival, Is Eligible For Best New Artist Grammy

UK singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor is back in the limelight after her classic hit “Murder On The Dancefloor” was featured in the film Saltburn last year. She has just unveiled her new single “Freedom Of The Night,” marking her first dance-pop release since 2011. This vibrant track follows her work with Ed Harcourt and includes an upcoming music video directed by Sophie Muller, set to debut next Friday.

Ellis-Bextor shared her thoughts on the new song:

Music has always served as a way for me to reset, and “Freedom Of The Night” embodies that experience. It’s about using music to find release and enjoy a bit of indulgence. I believe this energy is universal and sometimes we just need to embrace our desires.

In a surprising turn of events, Billboard has noted that Ellis-Bextor is now eligible for the Best New Artist category at the upcoming Grammys due to the renewed interest in “Murder On The Dancefloor.” Check out her new track “Freedom Of The Night” below.
