The Silverlites Unveil Their Debut Track: A Fresh Sound on TunesDeck

New Supergroup The Silverlites Share Debut Single

Introducing the Silverlites, a newly formed supergroup featuring Peter Buck from R.E.M., Rich Robinson from the Black Crowes, Barrett Martin of Screaming Trees and Mad Season, alongside singer-songwriter Joseph Arthur, who was initially brought into the spotlight by Peter Gabriel. The band has unveiled their first album titled Silverlites along with their debut single “Don’t Go, Don’t Stay.”

Barrett Martin shared on Facebook that he was responsible for recording and producing the album during the pandemic. He noted that the inspiration began in a Nashville hotel room in 2019, and they dedicated their pandemic downtime to various recording and mixing sessions. He emphasized their use of a traditional songwriting style, incorporating acoustic guitars with some electric elements, emphasized lead vocals, catchy harmonies, and a distinct soulful rhythm in the backing section. He remarked, “It’s old school songwriting, just like us.”

The album was mixed in 2021 at Flux Studios in Manhattan with the help of Daniel Sanint. Additionally, Buck has made guest appearances alongside the Black Crowes at live shows over the years. You can listen to “Don’t Go, Don’t Stay” below.
