Blue Smiley, a lesser-known band from Philadelphia, left a significant mark in the shoegaze revival with their two albums, 2015’s ok and 2016’s return. Sadly, their journey came to an abrupt end with the passing of their main songwriter, Brian Nowell, in 2017. To commemorate what would have been his 34th birthday, the remaining members have released a previously unreleased track titled “pond.”
The song “pond” was intended for the album return. It kicks off with energetic drum sounds and gradually transitions into a more intense and slower buildup. You can listen to it below.
