Her New Knife, a Philadelphia-based band, creates noise rock similar to Julie and They Are Gutting A Body of Water. This fall, they’ll be touring alongside these bands. The group is set to release their new EP, chrome is lullaby, later this month, but they’ve already given us a preview with their latest single, “purepurepure.”
The track combines melodic elements with a sense of discomfort, featuring a haunting bassline that complements Edgar Atencio’s soft vocals. In a press release, Atencio shared, “This song is about instinct; writing it felt instinctive. It’s a mix of metallic sounds and harp. If someone asked you what Her New Knife sounds like, just play this track for them.”
