World News Unveils Upcoming EP “Mindsnap”
This year, the British indie rock group World News made waves with their EP titled Escape. They have now revealed a new project: an EP named Mindsnap. Despite previous concerns regarding their online visibility, the band seems to be improving by choosing unique titles like Mindsnap.
Alongside the EP announcement, they released the title track, showcasing a fresh musical direction. “Mindsnap” embraces a darker, more gothic sound compared to their previous work on Escape. It features a rhythmic, motorik-inspired beat complemented by their signature sparkling guitars. Rory Evans, one half of the songwriting duo, shared insights into the creative process:
Some of the riffs we used were old ideas we had as an instrumental. They felt a bit neurotic, reflecting my mindset at the time. “Mindsnap” was the first word that came to mind, and we built the lyrics around that.
We often write in a spontaneous way — we bring ideas together, play without conversation, and let the sound guide us. When we introduced this piece in the studio, we all felt it instantly clicked.

The Mindsnap EP is set to be released on November 14 via Pie & Mash Records.
