Toronto’s grunge-pop duo PONY, consisting of Sam Bielanski and Matty Morand, previously released a single titled “Freezer” in June. They have now unveiled a new track called “Every Little Crumb.”
The song fuses catchy pop melodies with edgy guitar riffs, reminiscent of acts like Veruca Salt and that dog. The lyrics reflect on the pain of enduring a challenging and regretful friendship: “Forgetting every little thing I ever cared about/ Wilted like the sun is running out/ Realizing you’re the one thing I can live without,” Bielanski expresses. She elaborates in the Bandcamp description:
This time, we took a different approach to songwriting. Matty created the music while I independently wrote the lyrics and melody. This method was new for me and slightly daunting, but I enjoyed the freedom to focus on my thoughts and delivery.
