Susanna Hoffs Unveils “The Lost Record,” a Long-Awaited Album from 25 Years Ago

Susanna Hoffs Announces The Lost Record, Previously Unreleased Album Recorded 25 Years Ago

Susanna Hoffs, known for her work with The Bangles, is bringing new music to fans after a series of cover albums, including Bright Lights and The Deep End. Her novel, This Bird Has Flown, is also being turned into a film. Her next exciting release is an album called The Lost Record, which features tracks that have been kept under wraps for 25 years.

The songs on The Lost Record were recorded in 1999 in a garage, a setting that holds special significance for Hoffs. “I love garage rock; many of my all-time favorite tracks were crafted in such spaces, particularly during the 80s,” she shares. The album includes collaborations with friends like Bill Bottrell and members of the Go-Go’s, Charlotte Caffey and Jane Wiedlin, and was produced by Dan Schwartz. She has already introduced a cover of Shawn Colvin’s “I Don’t Know Why,” which features as the closing track. Today, she’s also unveiling the album’s opening track, “Under A Cloud,” which has previously been re-recorded by The Bangles. You can listen to both songs below.
