Aespa recently debuted their first full album, Armageddon, featuring the popular track “Supernova.” Grimes has now put her unique spin on this hit with a new remix.
Grimes shared her motivations behind this project on X, stating, “Honestly I probably wouldn’t have started producing music again if not for my intense interest in K-pop. My friendship with Nietzsche has ended; now Æspa is my go-to.” On Instagram, she expressed her excitement about altering the hook in her remix, emphasizing the lyric “bring no light of a dying star” as particularly impactful. Additionally, she noted that she has also remixed Aespa’s “Armageddon,” but is unsure if they would want to use it.

I’ve also got another Supernova remix that’s pretty good, but my baby damaged the computer it was saved on, so it can’t be mixed anymore.
