New Release Alert: Pom Pom Squad’s Latest Single
Pom Pom Squad has given fans a glimpse of their upcoming album Mirror Starts Moving Without Me through captivating tracks like “Downhill” and “Spinning.” The indie rock band from NYC has now dropped their dynamic new single, “Street Fighter,” co-produced with Cody Fitzgerald.
Mia Berrin shared her excitement about the song: “While Cody and I were experimenting, we found a synth sound reminiscent of Street Fighter!” She explained that the theme of reconnecting with one’s childhood and core self runs throughout the album, influencing much of the writing. “Street Fighter II was one of my favorite childhood games, so it felt natural to take the song in this playful direction. I wrote the lyrics and recorded the vocals late one night at around 4 am, and in my exhausted state, I ended up with some lighthearted and quirky lyrics. Typically, my songwriting is more serious, so this showcases a different side of me!”
