Linkin Park has revealed their latest plans during a livestreamed concert in New York and London. The rap-rock band unveiled their new album, titled From Zero, set for release on November 15. They also introduced Emily Armstrong from Dead Sara as their new lead singer, along with Colin Brittain, the drummer from G Flip/Illenium/One OK Rock.
Previously, there were rumors about Linkin Park considering a female lead singer to replace the late Chester Bennington. After some speculation and a countdown clock on their website, the band confirmed this new direction. The concert marked the debut of “The Emptiness Machine,” the lead single from the upcoming album, featuring both Mike Shinoda and Emily Armstrong’s vocals.
Mike Shinoda shared a statement about the album:
“Before LINKIN PARK, our first band name was Xero. This album title refers to both this humble beginning and the journey we’re currently undertaking. Sonically and emotionally, it is about past, present, and future—embracing our signature sound, but new and full of life. We are proud of what LINKIN PARK has become over the years, and excited about the journey ahead.”
Additionally, the band expressed their enthusiasm for their new lineup and the fresh music they’ve created with Emily and Colin. They aim to blend their familiar sound with new elements, exploring different musical territories.
