The emo genre with a post-hardcore twist is thriving currently with bands like Balance And Composure reuniting, Basement making a comeback, and newcomers like Milly making their mark. Today, Cheridomingo is releasing their third album Shapeshift, and it’s a real powerhouse.
Hailing from Simi Valley, California, the band comprises vocalist/guitarist Anthony Avina, lead guitarist Adam Dobrucki, bassist Alex Gonzalez, and drummer Simon Beck. The album, produced by Zach Tuch, holds a special significance for Avina who shared, “I never had a person telling me it was going to be okay, so I made that person within myself. I hope that people find things on this record that feel relatable to them and in turn, can be used as a source of comfort.”
