Vitesse X recently unveiled her upcoming second album titled This Infinite. The New York DJ and producer has already shared tracks like “Realize,” “way i luv,” and “Eternal,” and now presents “Careless,” featuring Jack Tatum of Wild Nothing.
Describing the song as her ‘love letter to depression,’ Vitesse X expressed her deep connection to the feeling of being in a dark place that resonates with her on a personal level:
The lyrics delve into moments of immobility, feeling overwhelmed by the world, and being stuck in negative thoughts. The sound of the song aims to maintain a dreamy quality, especially when delving into the abyss of darkness. It’s like embracing the darkness as a familiar place despite its toxicity. The production evolved from its original version to capture a classic dreampop essence, and enlisting Wild Nothing was a perfect choice to enhance the vibe.
“Careless” was mixed by Jorge Elbrecht and mastered by Joe LaPorta. Despite its inspiration, the track pulsates with vibrant, distorted energy. Listen to it below.
This Infinite is set to release on 10/4 under Vitesse X’s Music Website label.
