Cell, a college-rock band from the early-to-mid ’90s that caught the attention of Thurston Moore from Sonic Youth, has released their first new song in three decades. After releasing two LPs and several EPs, Cell disbanded in 1995. Their latest track, “Free People,” originally written in the ’90s, has been re-recorded and accompanied by a new music video.
To mark the occasion, Cell members Ian James, Jerry DiRienzo, Keith Nealy, and David Motamed will perform at two upcoming shows in New York. Catch them at DromFest in the Catskills from August 30 to September 1 and at Mercury Lounge on September 3.
