The artist Himanshu Suri, known as Heems, released the album “Lafandar” in collaboration with Lapgan earlier this year and is now gearing up for the launch of his VEENA LP this Friday. Ahead of this release, Heems has teased fans with tracks such as “Manto” featuring Vijay Iyer, “Dame,” and “Rakhi” with Pavvan and Ajji. Adding to the lineup is the latest advance track, “Flowers.”
“Flowers” features a dynamic and evolving dance beat along with vocals from Navz-47, a Sri Lankan artist who sings in Tamil. Navz-47 is the first artist signed to Heems’ new Veena label. Heems shared his excitement about this collaboration stating:
Although I may not understand all of the lyrics, I can feel her energy and passion. I had come across Navz-47 back in 2019 during her time as the Global Lead of Desi Culture at Spotify. She embodies incredible talent and potential, reminiscent of Lauryn Hill, delivering powerful verses. Despite challenges, I am convinced of her brilliance and am proud to have her on board with me. I believe she has much more to offer beyond her track “Neeyi Oli.”
