The fourth album, Romance, by Fontaines D.C. is set for release this Friday. The band from Ireland has showcased their versatility with singles like “Starburster,” “Favourite,” and “Here’s The Thing,” and now they offer a final glimpse with the mellow track “In The Modern World.”
Lead singer Chatten has revealed that “In The Modern World” is his preferred track from Romance. Described in a press release as reminiscent of Lana Del Rey, the song depicts a fictional trio navigating through an apocalypse scenario. Although deemed one of the weaker tracks on the album by some, it still carries a captivating allure that adds to the album’s strength.
Fontaines D.C. will mark the launch of Romance on Thursday with an exclusive show at London’s Electric Ballroom, with a capacity of 1,500 attendees. Watch the video for “In The Modern World” below, co-created with Luna Carmoon and featuring Ewan Mitchell.
Romance will be available on 8/23 through XL.
