Reflecting on the inspiration for “Kehlani,” Adetunji shared with TunesDeck, “I wanted to create a tribute to someone who is not only inspiring but also a leader in their own right. She seemed like the ideal individual for that. I had some reservations initially, questioning whether it was the right approach, but I took a chance, and I’m grateful she embraced it and took it positively.”
“I completed ‘Kehlani’ and released it within two days,” he further revealed, “I didn’t engage in targeted promotion to playlists or other avenues. I simply decided to put it out there.”
