Summary of the Music Release by John Davis – “Take My Brains Out” on TunesDeck

John Davis – “Take My Brains Out”

John Davis, who was from bands like Superdrag and the Lees Of Memory, is introducing his new solo album named JINX soon. Initially planned as a Superdrag album, it took a different direction. The song “The Future” was released in July, and now Davis has unveiled another track. The new song, “Take My Brains Out,” blends his distinctive snappy power-pop style with Dinosaur Jr.’s sounds. Davis mentions that Dinosaur Jr. served as inspiration for this project.

Davis shared a reflection:

Tom (Pappas, from Superdrag) burst into laughter when he first listened to the chorus. While it sounds humorous, it delves into deeper themes. Sometimes, your mind can be your greatest adversary, capable of self-destruction. Hence, the desire for a detachable brain. Additionally, the lead guitar always brings a smile to my face. It is often advised that if a song elicits laughter, it should be retained.

JINX will be released on 9/27 via Lost In Ohio.
