Fievel Is Glauque wowed audiences with their debut album Flaming Swords in 2022 and are now set to release their follow-up, Rong Weicknes, along with the lead single “As Above From Below.”
Zach Phillips shared insights about the inspiration behind “As Above From Below,” drawing from the mystical Emerald Tablet to capture the interplay between heaven and earth, the known and unknown. The duo’s creative process for this track involved unique elements like improvised song sections recorded with a laptop mic, drum loops from the ‘70s, and input from other musicians like drummer Gaspard Sicx and percussionist Daniel Rossi.
The lineup for the album includes Thom Gill, Logan Kane, Daniel Rossi, André Sacalxot, Gaspard Sicx, and Chris Weisman. Recording took place at the Outlier Inn, a farm and music studio in upstate New York, with engineer Steve Vealey overseeing the process.
