Mercury Rev is gearing up for the release of their first album of new music in nearly ten years, titled Born Horses. With singles like “Patterns” and “Ancient Love” already out, their latest offering is the poignant ballad “A Bird Of No Address.”
The track is characterized by its melodramatic flair, featuring a prominent piano and abundant reverb. Commenting on the song, band member Sean “Grasshopper” Mackowiak stated: “The grounds for hope are in the shadows, in the people who are inventing the world while no one looks, who themselves don’t know yet whether they will have any effect.’ For all the birds of no address: Fly on!”
