Olamide Adedeji, also known as Olamide Baddo, has been a prominent figure in Nigeria’s hip-hop scene, impressing fans with his skills as a rapper, singer, and record label owner. His latest project, Ikigai, has been well-received, with tracks like “Hello Habibi” and “Metaverse.”

In a recent interview, Olamide opened up about his new album and the reasons behind it after taking a break from music for almost four years following the release of his previous album, Carpe Diem, in 2020.

During a chat with TunesDeck, Olamide revealed that he had contemplated leaving his music career to focus solely on songwriting. However, he realized that music was an integral part of his life, and he couldn’t imagine giving it up.

He also explained that the title Ikigai, which means “a reason for being” in Japanese, signifies the renewed sense of purpose he has found in his music career.
