Sean Kingston and His Mother Accused of Federal Fraud Worth $1 Million

Sean Kingston, the singer behind the hit song “Beautiful Girls,” along with his mother, Janice Turner, are facing federal charges for allegedly defrauding businesses of over $1 million. They have been indicted on one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and five counts of wire fraud by a Grand Jury in Miami. The accusations involve orchestrating a scheme to obtain luxury items like jewelry and vehicles without fulfilling payment obligations.

The indictment states that Kingston and his mother falsely claimed to have made money transfers to cover the purchases, despite the payments not going through. They allegedly acquired items like a $160,000 Cadillac Escalade and $480,000 worth of jewelry through fraudulent means. The scheme led to the duo enriching themselves unjustly by more than $1 million. Both were arrested in May after a raid on Kingston’s Florida mansion and appeared in federal court on July 19.

If found guilty, Kingston and Turner could face up to 20 years in prison for each of the six charges. Sean Kingston’s lawyer, Robert Rosenblatt, expressed readiness to defend the case in federal court and remains optimistic about the outcome.
