Maxwell Stern’s Latest Single with Ratboys on TunesDeck
Maxwell Stern, known for his work with Signals Midwest and Timeshares, recently dropped his debut solo album, Impossible Sum, in 2020. He’s now gearing up for his next release, In The Good Light, teasing fans with singles like “You Deserve A Great Love” and “Two Magnets.” His latest track, “How’d You Find Me,” features Ratboys.
In a statement, Stern described the song as a “photo album of a road trip,” capturing moments like loading a camera, driving in the left lane, passing trains, and sipping a Coke. His aim was to evoke the sensation of a meaningful journey with someone, and Julia from Ratboys’ vocals enhanced this essence of companionship and motion.
The upcoming album In The Good Light includes guest contributions from Mike “Slo-Mo” Brenner of Magnolia Electric Company on pedal steel. Stern opted for a more collaborative process, enlisting bandmates like Jon Hernandez, Adam Beck, and Ian Farmer along with producer Andy Clarke for the recording at Retro City Studios in Northwest Philly.
