The band A Place To Bury Strangers is set to release their seventh studio album titled Synthesizer in October. They are offering a glimpse of the album with the lead single “Disgust,” which is the opening track.
In an innovative move, A Place To Bury Strangers incorporated a functional circuit board and synth into the vinyl LP packaging of Synthesizer. Frontman Oliver Ackermann described the album as chaotic but human. The single “Disgust” mirrors this chaos with lively bass lines, dynamic drums, and abundant guitar feedback. Ackermann expressed:
“Disgust” draws inspiration from the way I used to perform “Got That Feeling,” a song from my previous band Skywave. It features a long, sustained note on the bass that allowed me to play the entire part with one hand in the air. I intentionally wrote this song using open strings so it could be played with just one hand: simple and enjoyable.”
