Former member of Summer Cannibals, Jessica Boudreaux, is set to launch her first solo album, The Faster I Run, this week. Preceding this release are singles like “Be Somebody Else,” “Back Then,” and “Main Character,” with the latest single being “Cut And Run,” which she personally favors on the album.
“Cut And Run” is described as a counterpart to “Back Then.” While “Back Then” carried themes of regret and remorse, the lively “Cut And Run” has Boudreaux reflecting on fond memories of driving through her native southern Louisiana with the windows down and nights spent on rooftops smoking joints. The song captures the essence of those carefree moments. Originally intended for an Apple TV show that ultimately passed on it, the director Karlee Boon’s video for “Cut And Run” is now available.
The Faster I Run is scheduled for release on 7/19 through Pet Club.
